Karla’s
creative spirit has been at the center of
her evolution: as a teacher, a wife and a
mother. Even as far back as childhood, Karla
knew that she wanted to inspire others
through teaching. She ultimately became both
a classroom and master teacher and was able
to express herself in the field of
elementary school education.
With a Masters degree in educational
technology and building on the emergence of
digital multimedia in the early 1990’s,
Karla led her faculty in the integration of
family and creativity.
After nearly ten years as a professional
educator, Karla and her husband welcomed a
first (and then a few years later) a second
son into their family. |

As a full
time mother and a partner in her husband’s
picture frame business, Karla was often
busy, but not always creative. She pursued
her passion for visual arts through scrapbooking, mosaics, card making,
and even gardening, but it was her first jewelry class that
gave here a fresh burst of imagination.
While perfecting her latest artistic endeavor, Karla has
continued role of co-owner of her husband’s business along
with her new “classroom of two”. The intensity of life
rarely gives us idle time, and Karla has discovered that her
identity as a wife, mother, teacher - and artisan - are all
interwoven and best expressed through the creation of
jewelry that resonates with her passion of life. |
